14 August 2026

The Progressive Blacks in ICT (PBICT) welcomes and commends the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Hon. Solly Malatsi, MP, for the decisive intervention to reconfigure the leadership of the B‑BBEE ICT Sector Council.

This is an important step towards restoring a strong, functional and effective Sector Council capable of driving transformation and holding the ICT sector accountable.

South Africa needs a B‑BBEE ICT Sector Council with teeth – one that does not merely measure transformation, but has the courage and capacity to drive it.

We further congratulate our PBICT National Chairperson, Mr William Ledwaba, on his appointment as Interim Deputy Chairperson of the B‑BBEE ICT Sector Council.

For PBICT, the message remains clear: transformation must move from commitment to implementation, accountability and consequence.
